Horsforth Heating Solutions

We get multiple plumbing call outs from customers experiencing plumbing issues with their bathroom. These include low water pressure, blocked toilets and slow draining sinks. But many of these can be prevented by keeping on top of your bathrooms’ upkeep.

For example, if your shower doesn’t feel as powerful as it used to, it may be due to the levels of limescale within your shower head. Most of our customers explain that they clean their shower heads regularly, however this is usually just the outside. Limescale also builds up on the inside of your showerhead. If you can, remove the showerhead completely and soak it in a cleaning agent to help remove any internal limescale. You should see an improvement in your water pressure after this, but if the issue continues, get in touch and we can come and take a closer look.

If you have noticed that your bathroom sink isn’t draining as quickly as it used to, it could be due to residue in your plug. Products such as shaving foam and toothpaste can build up in your plug if not washed away properly, causing the water to take longer to drain. Give your sink a regular thorough clean to ensure that products aren’t causing a build-up.

Bathroom upkeep can be an ongoing task, but it is key to ensure that you continue to experience good water pressure and quick water drainage. Bathrooms are particularly prone to faults and issues due to the amount of water that runs through them. It’s not helped by the fact that most of the UK is run on hard water, so limescale is rife! But regular cleaning and keeping an eye on your bathroom will help prevent bigger problems.

If you have any concerns about your bathroom, get in touch and we will be happy to help.
